Fire destroyed a home on McKee near East 18th Street early Saturday morning and Hopkinsville police are investigating a shooting nearby that injured two women.
Firefighters from two stations were called to the home just before 4:30 and found the structure and a car fully involved in fire, according to Lt. Payton Rogers.
It’s believed the fire spread from the vehicle to the home, with Hopkinsville police investigating it as arson. No one was injured in the blaze.
Gunfire rang out while firefighters battled the blaze and two women were located injured inside a vehicle on Falls Lane. They were taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and their names have not been released.
A pursuit of a vehicle in the area went to Pembroke and then onto KY 115, but was terminated when officers lost sight of the automobile.
The incidents remain under investigation and it’s unknown if they are related.
