Soldier injured in early morning accident

A Fort Campbell soldier was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Carter Road near Oak Grove.

Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Tommy Hoffman says the man had been headed westbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car in a curve, causing it to leave the roadway and strike an embankment.

It then rolled backward across the roadway and came to rest against some trees.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was transported by EMS to Tennova Health in Clarksville for a laceration to his head that did not appear to be life-threatening.
