Tonight: The New Orleans Saints welcome the Miami Dolphins in a battle of two teams fighting for their playoff lives. Both teams are 7-7 with the Dolphins having won their last six games and holding the opposition to 10 points or less in each of the six wins.
Meanwhile, former Saints quarterback Drew Brees is saying no-thanks to a request that he come back and lead the team in tonight’s game. After both of New Orleans’ quarterbacks were placed on the COVID-19 list, the retired Brees was the first person head coach Sean Payton called for help. Brees and his family are in Hawaii, and he reportedly didn’t want to return to the team as a backup, or on such short notice with no time to train. Rookie Ian Book will call the signals for the first time tonight.
