The Princeton Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery at the BP gas station on US Highway 62 West that occurred Wednesday night.
According to a news release, officers responded to the gas station around 9 p.m. for reports of a male subject with a gun. Investigation determined that the male suspect had entered the business, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded the clerk activate the gas pumps. When the clerk refused, he reportedly fled the gas station and left the scene in a 2015 Nissan Altima that he stole at the pumps.
A vehicle that the suspect abandoned at the scene had been reported stolen during a robbery in Nashville. Officers were unable to locate the suspect and were later informed that the vehicle stolen from the BP was located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
The identity of the suspect remains unknown and the investigation continues.
