Hopkinsville Kiwanis kicks off Warm the Children campaign

The Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville is gearing up for the annual Warm the Children campaign and donations are being accepted now to help local children in need have warm winter clothing.

Organizer Nikki Chambers heads up the initiative, and she took a moment at Thursday’s Kiwanis meeting to remember Willie Renshaw, who is the reason the Warm the Children program came to Hopkinsville and has continued since, helping those in need.

Chambers says they raised a record amount of money last year, and that will allow them to shop for approximately 250 children this year and they’re looking to raise that again.

Organizer Mike Kisner says it truly is something special, to see the happiness warm clothing and a little help can bring someone.

Donations are now being accepted and people can do that online at hopkinsvillekiwanis.com or a check can be mailed to Hopkinsville Kiwanis, Warm the Children, P.O. Box 470 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
