Gov says Kentucky poised for economic opportunities, encourages vaccination against COVID

Governor Andy Beshear spoke at the virtual Labor Management Conference Tuesday, saying he believes Kentucky has an opportunity to see unprecedented economic growth when the Commonwealth is eventually able to get past the pandemic.

He praised workers across Kentucky who stepped up at the beginning of the pandemic and donated PPE when it was hard to come by.

The governor says there is significant interest in Kentucky from industries looking to grow or expand, but we’ve got to get on the other side of the pandemic to see many of those possibilities come to fruition.

He urged Kentuckians who’ve been vaccinated to call a loved one who is hesitant and try to persuade them it’s the best way to protect themselves and others.

Just under 60 percent of Kentuckians have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
