Brad Hewell appointed Christian County Jailer, likely to run for post in 2022

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble has appointed Brad Hewell to replace the retiring Brad Boyd as Christian County Jailer.

Major Hewell has 27 years of service and is most well-known for overseeing the inmate community service program since 2007.

Hewell will fulfill the remainder of Boyd’s term beginning August 1 through the end of next year and says it’s his intention to continue the jail’s tradition of serving the community while remaining financially strong.

He appreciated Judge Tribble for the appointment, calling it an honor.

While he hasn’t made any formal announcements, it’s his intention right now to run for a full term as Christian County jailer in 2022.

Hewell serves on the executive board for the Western Kentucky State Fair and serves on the board for the Hopkinsville-Christian County Youth League.

Judge Tribble says he looks forward to working with Hewell and he wishes him the best of luck in his new position.
