Hopkinsville Red, White and Ooh Fireworks show is Sunday evening

The City of Hopkinsville’s annual Fourth of the July fireworks show, dubbed Red, White and Ooh, is set to take place this evening at Ruff Park.

While the show itself won’t start until 9:15 p.m., after the sun has fully set, there will be celebration activities starting at 6 p.m., with Tab Brockman and Toby Hudson of Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation saying there will be multiple food trucks, fun for the kids and more.

Brockman says while they still held the show last year during the pandemic, it was limited with no gathering possible, so they’re excited to bring the fun back this year.  The free event is being helmed by local Tim Bass, with Brockman saying they’re sure to deliver an awesome show.

The first one-thousand kids in attendance will get a free dessert surprise, courtesy of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Parking will be available in the Hopkinsville Community College and Christian County High School lots, and in various locations around North Drive. There is NO parking at Ruff Park, due to the fireworks drop zone.
