Hopkinsville Electric System will have to cut off power to two sections of the city for a period of time late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning to allow necessary work to be completed.
A large area including Fort Campbell Boulevard, Nelson Drive, a section of South Virginia Street and Morningside Drive will lose power beginning about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Another area along Lafayette Road from Country Club Lane to Holiday Park Drive and adjoining streets will be without power from 11:55 p.m. until about 3 a.m.
HES says the outages are necessary to prepare for the installation of the new Greenway walking bridge that will span Country Club Lane and Lafayette Road.
