Updated: Hopkins County shooting suspect turns self in

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says the man sought in connection with a shooting Saturday night in Earlington has turned himself in.

Police say 31-year old Joshua Walden of Sebree is charged with first-degree assault and wanton endangerment.

The shooting happened about 9:45 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of South Lee Trover Todd Jr. Highway, according to a news release, which says Walden had been chasing a vehicle occupied by 34-year old Joshua Warner of Earlington and Walden’s wife—35-year old Terri Walden of Sebree.

Joshua Walden ran Warner’s vehicle off the roadway and pointed a handgun at Warner. When Warner tried to push the gun away from Walden, he fired a shot that struck Warner in the arm.

Teri Walden drove Warner to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment of his injury and Joshua Walden fled the scene.
