Hopkinsville High School seniors may have had a different type of graduation this year, but the school made it official Friday afternoon with a virtual showing.
Hopkinsville High’s 274 graduates walked across the stage and got their diplomas in recorded settings, and those sessions were then edited and put together to make the graduation. Retiring Agriculture Teacher Troy Goode says he’s sorry that the class of 2020 missed out on so much due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he’s confident they will take on their future goals with the same determination they did this.
He says this class has done much to be proud of, and they should never forget that.
There were two valedictorians this year—Jerry Baldwin Morse II and Bryce Andrew Robinson—with Hannah Croom claiming Salutatorian. Angel Rodriguez and Megan Grace were honored as having perfect attendance for the year. About 50 honor graduates were recognized during the ceremony, along with transition ready students.
The class recognized the memory of classmate Zachary Cheatham.
