Armed home invasion investigated in Logan County

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the three suspects responsible for an armed home invasion and robbery Sunday night on Old Lewisburg Road.

At about 9:10 p.m., three white males rang the back doorbell at a home in the 1700 block of Old Lewisburg Road. When the 74-year old man who lives there opened the door, they forced their way inside and pointed a handgun at the man while demanding money.

The victim handed over his wallet and struggled briefly with his attacker before being struck in the face with a pistol, knocking him to the ground.

The three men then kicked the resident repeatedly as he lied on the floor bleeding.

Police say the suspect ransacked the house and then retreated with the victim’s wallet. They left in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Chevy or GMC, heading north at a high rate of speed on Old Lewisburg Road.

It’s possible a white female was driving the vehicle.

Anyone with information on the suspects should call the Logan County Sheriff’s Department at 270-726-4911. Logan County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrests of the perpetrators.
