Demar takes life without parole deal in double-murder case

Jeremy Demar entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Christian Circuit Court to two counts of murder, attempted murder and other charges, in relation to the 2017 shooting deaths of Fort Campbell soldiers Priscilla East and Christopher Hoch in Oak Grove.

The plea comes with a recommended sentence of life without the possibility of probation or parole, according Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling.

Boling described some of the events that occurred in February of 2017, detailing how Demar broke into a residence, fired a shot at another individual, and then shot and killed his estranged wife—East—and Hoch.

Demar changed his plea from not-guilty to guilty in front of Circuit Judge John Atkins, who accepted his plea.

Final sentencing was set for April 15.  By accepting the plea deal Demar avoids the death penalty, which had been a possibility throughout the proceedings.
