Cadiz women injured in I-24 crash

Two Cadiz residents were injured in an accident Monday night on I-24.

A collision report from Christian County Sheriff’’s Deputy Sam Suiter says 54-year old Gerardo Bringas of Florida was westbound when he lost control of his tractor-trailer due to inattention and went into the median, crashing into the cable barriers.

His truck and trailer went back onto the interstate and came to rest completely disabled in the left lane.

Bringas was unable to activate his emergency equipment and his trailer was rear-ended by a car operated by 52-year old Johnetha Boyd of Cadiz, who was unable to see wrecked rig.

Boyd and her passenger, 44-year old Lisa Mayes of Cadiz, were both taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
