Tuesday is High Attendance Day in Kentucky schools

The Christian County Public School System and districts across Kentucky are participating in High Attendance Day Tuesday.

Officials say districts use the occasion to emphasize that being in class and on time leads to success in education and life.

Attendance rates are important because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently.

A news release says studies show dropout patterns are linked with poor attendance, beginning as early as kindergarten and that a drop out student’s career income is less than 75 percent of those who graduate high school.
