HCC KYFAME program introduces 2019 group

Fifteen students signed the dotted line Tuesday morning to be part of the 2019 ‘HOPFAME’ cohort, meaning they’ll work at a local industry and learn at Hopkinsville Community College at the same time.

HCC President, Dr. Alissa Young says the Hopkinsville Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education program is an apprenticeship where the students learn at HCC and earn a paycheck at the industry they are signed with.

She says the eight participating industries have opportunities to offer input on the curriculum.

Many of the students are just out of high school, but Dr. Young says it’s not limited to young people.

Below is a list of industries and students who signed.
