A man was arrested on gun charges and for other crimes following an investigation Monday evening on South Fowler Avenue.
Witnesses called police about a man walking up and down the street with a rifle and Officer Gary Hicks made contact with 39-year old Charles Hollowell of Hopkinsville, who allegedly dropped a bag containing the rifle and fled on foot.
Officers set up a perimeter and used a K9 to locate Hollowell hiding in the corner of a shed, according to the arrest citation, which says he was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he was belligerent with medical staff.
A computer check confirmed Hollowell was a convicted felon.
He was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and disorderly conduct.
