Three arrested for meth trafficking

A traffic stop by Hopkinsville Police Sunday morning led to the arrests of three people on methamphetamine charges.

Officer Alexander Cortez stopped 40-year old Michael Jurek of Clarksville for a traffic violation at East 14th and South Liberty Street about 1:45 a.m. and a K9 alerted on his vehicle, according to an arrest citation.

A search allegedly revealed a baggy of meth that was in the reach of all occupants of the vehicle and nobody claimed ownership.

Jurek, 32-year old Candace Mahone of Hopkinsville and 33-year old Lurena Sutton of Hopkinsville were all arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Jurek was additionally charged with careless driving.
