Man killed in Clarksville officer-involved shooting

A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning in Clarksville.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident and says officers with the Clarksville Police Department responded to wrecked vehicle on Britton Springs Road about 9:45 a.m. and witnesses said a man and woman walked away from the automobile.

Officers found two people in the area matching the witness description and the man–identified as 29-year old Angel Dean Burke–reportedly fled on foot in the 1900 block of Batts Lane. At some point during the pursuit, Burke was shot and killed by an officer after an encounter in which Burke was allegedly armed with a handgun.

The TBI says the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation and no other details have been released.

No police officers were injured in the incident.
