A former Madisonville business owner has been arrested for theft by deception.
Madisonville Police say they have fielded several complaints over the last two months regarding Two Guys Transmission and Auto Repair. That business was owned by David Edward Warnick and he used Facebook Marketplace to advertise his services.
A majority of the complaints that were Warnick promised complete rebuilds of their transmissions to be backed up by a two-year warranty. The customers were required to pay a deposit up front and the rest upon completion.
The complaining parties said they later learned the work had not been completed as promised. When they tried to contact Warnick, they could not get a hold of him.
The business has since closed its doors and Warnick has been arrested for multiple counts of felony theft by deception.
