Governor Matt Bevin has officially filed his papers to seek a second term.
He also announced that State Senator Ralph Alvarado of Winchester will be his running mate—meaning Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton will be finished at the end of her current term.
Governor Bevin will face Representative Robert Goforth in the May Republican primary.
House Minority Floor Leader Rocky Adkins, former Auditor Adam Edelen and Attorney General Andy Beshear are running for the Democratic nomination.
