A Fort Campbell soldier is in custody following the death of a woman on post last month, but Army officials are not releasing many details.
The Leaf Chronicle quotes Maj. Martin Meiners as confirming an investigation is underway and that charges are pending. Names of those involved have not been released.
Major Meiners’ entire statement is quoted as, “A Fort Campbell soldier is in custody following the death of a civilian female in an incident December 18 on Fort Campbell. The incident is under investigation by U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.”
He says additional information will be released when charges are officially filed.
