Rep. Dossett looks toward 2019 session

Ninth District state Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke believes pensions and the 2019 elections will make major impacts on the upcoming session of the General Assembly.

The Republican wishes lawmakers could have gotten pension reform accomplished again during the recent failed special session that was called by Governor Matt Bevin following a Supreme Court decision that struck down the 2018 bill.

Dossett expects some clean up on tax issues, but no major tax reform effort during a non-budget-year session.

Governor Matt Bevin has said he will seek reelection this year, House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins is seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination and Representative Dossett expects politics to play a role in the upcoming session.
