Five local high school band members are celebrating being named to the 2019 Kentucky Music Educators All-State Band.
According to a news release, Hopkinsville High School’s Jaylon Taggart on tuba, Jared Martin on euphonium, Jaslyn Rivera on trombone and Jason Dollinger on clarinet were chosen following auditions. Also selected was Alex Pritchett, who plays snare drum for Christian County High School.
The all-state band members were nominated after being named earlier to the 2018 KMEA All-Third District Band. The KMEA All-State Band will perform at the KMEA State Conference in Louisville, February 9, 2019 while the KMEA All-Third District Band will perform January 5, 2019 in Van Meter Auditorium at Western Kentucky University.
