Police in Clarksville and Montgomery County hosted their Kids Shopping with Cops Extravaganza Saturday at the Sango Walmart.
Clarksville Police Union #18 sponsored the shopping spree for over 150 children. Some children shopped for themselves, others wanted to buy gifts for everyone else except themselves and one insisted on buying something for a teacher, according to Public Information Officer Jim Knoll.
Officers from Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and civilians with a connection to law enforcement escorted the kids around to help pick out the perfect gift.
Santa Claus was in the area for Christmas parades in Hopkinsville, Elkton, Trenton and Guthrie and he was able to make the short sleigh ride across the state line to greet the children and police officers.
