Man killed in early morning Clarksville accident

An early Saturday morning accident on Peachers Mill Road in Clarksville killed the driver.

Investigation by Clarksville Police determined a 27-year old male had been northbound when he lost control of his car, spun out, and struck a curb.

The vehicle then struck a boulder on the side of the road and overturned, partially ejecting the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year old female passenger was able to escape the car by crawling out of a window and refused an ambulance trip to the hospital.

A witness told police the car had been traveling at a high rate of speed prior to crashing and neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.

Names of those involved have not been released.
