Driver of stolen car in hit and run facing numerous charges

The man driving a stolen car involved in a hit and run crash on Dawson Springs Road Friday is facing several charges.

The collision report from Public Safety Officer Cassidy Woods says 43-year old John Paul Hill of Hopkinsville had been headed northbound and lost control in a curve near Dink Embry’s Buttermilk Road.

The car left the right side of the road, struck a sign and traveled approximately 125 yards before coming to a stop.

He fled the car on foot, but was soon located by offices at the Dawson Road Copper Still.

Hill was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries.

A computer check showed the car was reported stolen in Nashville and that Hill was sought on warrants for probation violation.

Due to the extent of his injuries and continued hospitalization, he was issued a criminal summons and was cited into court for leaving the scene of an accident, receiving stolen property, driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance.
