Two arrested for drug crimes following traffic stop

A traffic stop on North Virginia Street late Wednesday night led to the arrests of two people on drug charges.

Hopkinsville Police say a K9 alerted on the vehicle and officers located a white rock that tested positive for cocaine next to the seat where 63-year old Lady Godiva Hopson of Hopkinsville had been sitting.

Police also located Brillo pads commonly used to smoke crack and an arrest citation says she tried to hide the items from officers.

Hopson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

Another passenger, 47-year old Eric Pearson of Hopkinsville, was arrested for his second offense of possession of synthetic drugs for allegedly having a baggie of ‘Spice’ in his pocket. He was also served with outstanding warrants.
