Two facing charges relating to stolen pickup

Two people are facing multiple charges relating to a stolen vehicle on Mohawk Trail.

A man called Hopkinsville Police just before 11 a.m. Wednesday reporting that the pickup belonging to his deceased mother had been stolen from 1603 Mohawk.

As Officer Jamal Howard as finishing up taking the report, he saw a vehicle matching the description on Christian Quarry Road headed toward East Ninth Street.

The pickup stopped in a gravel lot near the Trail of Tears and both occupants—32-year old Steven Dale Hodge and 31-year old Amy Hodge of Hopkinsville—both fled on foot. Amy soon stopped, surrendered to police and said Steven had started the truck by breaking the ignition and using a screwdriver.

Police say they found a used syringe in the glove compartment and a plastic bag holding a metal spoon and a monopoly game piece containing white residue behind a seat.

Amy Hodge was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Steven Hodge was taken into custody after the pursuit and was cited into court, per the order of Judge Jason Fleming. He is charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police, driving with a suspended license and drug paraphernalia possession.
