Unemployment dropped slightly from September to October in Christian County, but ticked up in Todd and Trigg counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 5.1 percent, down from 5.5 percent in September—but up from 4.8 percent one year ago. It equated to 1,292 people who were looking for work, but who were unable to find it.
Todd County is tied with Calloway County for western Kentucky’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.8 percent—up from 3.6 percent in September and from 3.2 percent in October of 2017.
In Trigg County, the jobless rate was 4.4 percent in October. That was up from 4.3 percent in September and down from 4.7 percent a year ago.
Muhlenberg County has the Pennyrile Region’s highest jobless rate at an even 6 percent.
