The weekly Crime Stoppers report on WHOP each Wednesday morning will feature a new voice this week as Officer Mike Atkins takes over as Hopkinsville Police Department public information officer and Crime Stoppers Coordinator.
Atkins has been at HPD for about 10 and a half years and has served in numerous capacities that have included community outreach.
Officer Atkins says he plans to increase the department’s presence on social media in his new capacity.
Atkins takes over both duties from Lt. Kyle Spurlin, who is headed back to the streets as a patrol lieutenant.
