Several awards were handed out Saturday night at the local NAACP annual Freedom Fund and Awards Banquet at Pioneers, Inc.
Dr. Raymond Burse, the Hopkinsville native who served two stints as president of Kentucky State University, was the keynote speaker and titled his remarks ‘Time for a Bounce Back.’
With the election only a couple days away, Dr. Burse encouraged everyone to vote—especially those who feel their vote may not matter.
Tom Bell was presented with the Community Leader Award and Demetria Snorton and Montreal Jones received Emerging Leader awards.
