A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a traffic shift along the Pennyrile Parkway work zone in Christian and Hopkins Counties on Friday.
A news release says it is along the concrete pavement rehabilitation work zone that runs from near 16 mile-marker extending northward to near the U.S. 41 ramp overpass near Mannington, a distance of about 13 miles.
The traffic shift will eliminate 2-way traffic now running along the southbound lanes. Once the shift is complete, the work zone will have one lane of traffic in each direction running in the right-hand or driving lane.
Motorists should be alert for personnel working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow to move and position traffic control equipment to accomplish the shift.
