The Hopkinsville Junior Auxiliary has awarded its 2018 community grant of $4,000 to the Imagination Library of Hopkinsville-Christian County.

Hopkinsville Junior Auxiliary President Sarah Whitaker says in in a news release, “We are happy to be able to help local children and support efforts to increase literacy in our community with the award of this grant to the Imagination Library. It was extremely difficult to choose just one organization to help with this year’s grant; every single organization that applied was very deserving and greatly impacts our community.”

Grant applicants eligible for the bi-annual Hopkinsville Junior Auxiliary community grant were required to be Hopkinsville or Christian County-based non-profit organizations impacting the community.  Officials say the mission of the organization, the need for funds, how the grant would help the organization serve Christian County, how many will be served and details of the grant spend were all considered in the decision to award the grant.
