Indictments returned for rape, assault, wanton endangerment

A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for rape, assault, wanton endangerment and other offenses Friday afternoon.

Indicted on two counts of third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy is 26-year old Cody Ambrose of Oak Grove. The arrest warrant alleges that between the dates of November 1 and November 30 in 2017, he forced a 15-year old female victim to have sex with him.  He allegedly threatened to restrain her if she didn’t, after she reportedly told him she did not want to.  Ambrose allegedly admitted to having intercourse with the victim multiple times, but says that she consented.

20-year old Dreon Key of Nashville is indicted on two counts of second-degree assault of a police officer, second-degree assault, fleeing or evading police, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, knowingly receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. He allegedly drove through an accident scene on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road in July 2017 when officers approached his vehicle, striking two officers and a firefighter.  Key was apprehended after a pursuit and it was discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Nashville.

30-year old Anjelica Peden of Clarksville is indicted for second-degree assault for allegedly hitting a male victim over the head with a beer bottle at CJ Billboard Sport Bar.

Indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, use of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, fourth-degree assault and several traffic violations is 26-year old Trevor Putty of Hopkinsville. A female victim reportedly ran to a neighbor’s house to call the police, saying she and Putty had gotten into an argument and he had struck her foot with a hammer and put a gun to her head and stomach.

A search of the home allegedly revealed several guns and a device containing a powdery substance that had wires on the outside appeared to be a bomb and state investigators confirmed that it was, according to the report. Putty reportedly said a friend gave it to him and said the guns weren’t his.
