One critically injured in Clarksville wreck, driver charged

One person is in critical condition and a second is charged with assault and DUI in relation to a wreck that occurred Thursday night in Clarksville.

According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, the collision occurred at McClardy Road and Whitt Lane around 10:45 p.m. when a vehicle driven by 32-year old Joshua Crouch of Clarksville went off the road. The vehicle struck a guardrail, veered back across the road and come to a stop in a yard on McClardy.

During the crash, a 23-year old male passenger in the vehicle reportedly struck the windshield and was ejected from the passenger side window. He was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. His name has not yet been released.

Alcohol is listed as a factor in the crash. Crouch was taken to Tennova Health Hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury and was then arrested and charged with DUI and vehicular assault. He is lodged in the Montgomery County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
