Traffic stop leads to meth trafficking arrest

Lumbard

A traffic stop for a seat belt violation on Main Street Friday afternoon led to charges against two people—including one for drug trafficking.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Josh Strauch stopped 26-year old William Webster of Pembroke at Main and West Third Street for not wearing a seat belt and soon learned his registration was also expired. A K9 alerted on the vehicle and the report says police found methamphetamine, digital scales and plastic baggies.

A passenger, 29-year old Bryson Lumbard of Madisonville, was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Webster was cited into court for having an expired plate and no insurance.
