Visitor’s Bureau talks tourism, technology

The Rotary Club of Hopkinsville got a visit from the new Executive Director of the Hopkinsville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau at Tuesday’s meeting.

Executive Director Brooke Jung says exciting things are happening in Hopkinsville and Christian County, and it’s the bureau’s job to promote, pitch and help plan with events, businesses and attractions.

She says their goal is to get people to stay in the community at hotels when the visit and spend a couple of days exploring.

Jung says a big asset to have for both visitors and locals is the bureau’s app called “Visit Hopkinsville”, which includes lists of all restaurants, events, venues and more.

Their website has been updated and has a new community calendar, which people can send in the information about an event they’re having that will be put on the calendar for people to see. Jung says Hopkinsville has a large tourism industry impacted by many things, including sports, weddings, national park travelers, festivals and history enthusiasts.
