All students in the Todd County School System will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge during the upcoming school year.
It’s due to implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision as part of the National School Breakfast and School Lunch Programs.
Officials say it means all Todd County students will be offered a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day at no cost, regardless of eligibility status.
Breakfast will include an entrée, a fruit or fruit juice and milk. Lunch will include an entrée, vegetable a fruit and milk.
Students will be required to take a fruit or vegetable at each meal to receive it at no cost.
Cashiers will be prepared to guide students toward accepting the full meal, according to information from the school district.
