Three arrested on meth, opiate charges

An investigation on Vine Street early Saturday morning led to the arrests of three people on drug charges.

Hopkinsville Police responded to a phone-in alarm call at Lee Brick and Block about 3 a.m. and found a vehicle nearby with all of its doors open.

An arrest citation for 36-year old Destiny McIntyre of Hopkinsville says she exited the back seat and appeared to be under the influence of a substance. Officers saw a syringe containing a pink liquid in plain view stuck in the floor of the vehicle and a spoon containing pink substances that she had allegedly tried to conceal in a McDonalds bag were also found in car.

Two pink pills determined to be Oxymorphone were allegedly located in her wallet.

Two additional suspects, 37-year old Daniel Champion and 56-year old George Voit of Hopkinsville, were located nearby.

A baggie of crystal methamphetamine was located hidden under a rock near both men and a search of Champion’s person allegedly revealed a baggie containing two pink pills.

A search of Voit’s person allegedly turned up a syringe in his pocket.

All three were arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. McIntyre is additionally charged with possession of opiates and public intoxication.

Champion and Voit are charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and Champion with possession of opiates.
