Kentucky unemployment up slightly last month

Unemployment was up slightly from May to June in Kentucky, but was still well below the number from one year ago.

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary June unemployment rate was 4.2 percent, up from the 4.1 percent reported for May, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics.

That was down nine tenths of a point from the 5.1 percent recorded for the state in June 2017.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June was 4 percent, up two tenths of a point from the 3.8 percent reported for May, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
