Defense receives cell phone evidence in East Ninth murder case

Trial is set to begin on October 15 as scheduled for Dorien Muellion, the man accused of murder in the 2016 shooting death of Tarone Williams, as more evidence was given to the defense Wednesday.

Appearing in the Christian Circuit Courtroom of Judge John Atkins, Muellion was accompanied by defense attorney Clay Beineke, who had filed a motion for evidence concerning two cell phones to be turned over to him.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor explained that there wasn’t much to give but she provided what she had just that morning.

Beineke thinks that should be enough, but he will file an additional motion if it is necessary. Currently, no pretrial is scheduled between now and the trial date, but Judge Atkins says they can set one if it is needed before then.

Muellion was originally set to go to trial in March, but a mistrial was declared when there were not enough potential jurors to complete the selection process.
