Former University Heights golfer Tadd Switzer qualified for the Kentucky Amateur Championship Wednesday with a five over par 77 at Bowling Green Country Club. The Kentucky AM will take place June 19-21 at Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect.
Princeton’s Emma Talley had a two over par 74 in her first round of the US Women’s Open today at Shoal Creeek, outside of Birmingham. Talley birdied her first hole of the day, then bogeyed her third hole and double bogeyed her fifth hole of the day. Play is continuing this afternoon.
At the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament, Franklin’s Kenny Perry had a one over 73 in his opening round, with Louisville area native Justin Thomas firing a 72. JB Holmes is among those playing this afternoon.
