Black ice is listed as a factor in a single-vehicle wreck on Johnson Mill Road Wednesday morning.
According to a police report from Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Dragoo, 35-year old Brittney Cansler of Crofton was traveling on Johnson Mill Road around 6:50 a.m. and there were patches of black ice on the roadway.
It had rained, snowed and sleet the previous night, causing hazardous road conditions. Cansler hit a patch of black ice, causing the vehicle to spin and run off the roadway. The back of the vehicle struck a tree.
Cansler went by private vehicle to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a head injury. A passenger in the vehicle, 11-year old Landon Cansler, was treated at the scene for a minor head injury.
Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
