The 68th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction is less than a month away and there’s plenty of ways you can help it get off to a good start.
With a theme of “A Brilliant Future through Education,” this year’s auction is April 16th through the 21st at the War Memorial Building and Kiley Killebrew is the auction chair. She appeared on WHOP Thursday morning and says they are still in need of items for the auction.
She reminds that almost all of the money they raise goes into the Rotary Scholars program to send qualifying local high school graduates to Hopkinsville Community College two years tuition-free.
The Rotary Club hosted students from area schools Tuesday for a pizza party and they outlined their plans to raise money for this year’s auction.
A large portion of all money raised during the auction comes from Hour Club donors, meaning the person donates at least $168—the cost of one credit hour at HCC.
This year’s auction will also feature the traditional lunch and dinner menus, in addition to the sweet shop.
