Almost all state agencies will be feeling the burn of Governor Bevin’s Proposed spending cuts.

In his 2018-19 State of the Commonwealth address, Governor Bevin announced a 6.25-percent budget cut “across-the-board.”
Bevin’s proposal also calls for “significant yet strategic cuts” and complete elimination of 70 programs.

The reason for the spending cuts is the $3.31 billion proposed to spend on the state’s retirement system for state workers and public school teachers.

SEEK funding that is critical to public education won’t be cut under his proposal.

In addition to the pension, the governor has also allotted money for the adoption and foster care system, opioid epidemic, education, reforming entitlement, public safety and tax reform.
