Beautification Commission to expand flowers, banner programs

The Hopkinsville Beautification Commission has gotten the results of their community survey in and they now have an idea of what people want to see happen in improving the city.

Kelly Jackson with the commission appeared on WHOP Thursday morning and says that they were pleased with the amount of people who took the survey. One of the questions was where people wanted to see more hanging flower baskets, and Jackson says they’ll be expanding that program out towards North Drive.

He says a lot of time and work goes into making sure those flowers stay healthy.

The same thing could happen with the Banners on the Boulevard and downtown, as those who took the survey said they wanted to see them in more areas, including the Indian Hills area.

Jackson says as they begin the expansion, they’ll be looking for businesses or individuals that may want to sponsor a banner in their area. The commission also has several Adopt-A-Spot locations available.  For more information or to sponsor a project, like the Hopkinsville Beautification Commission on Facebook.
