Former player Smith becomes new women’s hoops assistant at UK

Kentucky’s women’s basketball coaching staff is being rearranged. According to a news release from the school, Amber Smith, who has been the team’s director of player development the last two seasons, has been named as a full time assistant coach. Smith played for head coach Matthew Mitchell at UK from 2008-12.

Also, contract extensions have been given to assistants Kyra Elzy and Niya Butts and assistant Lin Dunn has been given the title of assistant to the head coach.
