Unemployment remained the same from June to July in Christian County, while it was up slightly in Todd and Trigg counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 6.4 percent, which equaled 1,641 people who were looking for work and unable to find it. That number was up slightly from the 6.3 percent rate from July of 2018.
Todd County had an unemployment rate of 4.5 percent, up from 4.3 percent in June and up from 4.4 percent a year ago.
The jobless rate in Trigg County was 5.2 percent, up from 5 percent in June and from 4.9 percent a year ago.
Muhlenberg County had the Pennyrile region’s highest unemployment rate at 7.7 percent.
The statewide average was 5.1 percent and the national number was 4 percent.
