Proceedings were continued to next Wednesday in the Christian Circuit Courtroom of Judge John Atkins for manslaughter suspect Desiree Catlett, with a resolution possible in her case.
Defense attorney Eric Bearden represents Catlett and says he expects to have a resolution at that time, with an appointment set for Monday to discuss the options. She is set to appear back in court Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
Catlett is currently charged with second-degree manslaughter in the 2016 death of her infant son. Catlett’s nine-month old son fell into a bathtub while being bathed at their Evergreen Park Drive home and emergency responders arrived to find the infant not breathing. The defense has contended his death was a tragic accident, while the Commonwealth attributes the death to wanton neglect.
The case has gone to trial previously in 2018 and resulted in a mistrial, with a jury unable to come to an agreement on a verdict.
